Focused on You

The Pregnancy Help Center of Park City provides pregnancy test at no cost.

Our center has available the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) test. A pregnant woman's placenta produces hCG, also called the pregnancy hormone, if you are expecting a baby, the hCG test can usually detect this hormone in your urine about 10 days after your fist missed period, this is when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterine wall. During the first eight to ten weeks of pregnancy, hCG levels normally increase very rapidly; these levels will reach their peak at about the tenth week of pregnancy, and then they gradually decline until delivery. This is a qualitative test, which means that it will tell you whether or not it detects the hCG hormone in your urine. It’s not intended to reveal specific levels of the hormone. The presence of hCG in your urine is considered a positive sign of pregnancy. The hCG urine tests are commonly sold in kits that you can use at home and referred to as a home pregnancy test.

If your pregnancy test results shows a positive,  you have the option to get an ultrasound exam on the same day at no cost. An ultrasound exam can tell you how far along you are and if your pregnancy is viable.
